Tips for your Trips with the Little Ones of the House
Updated: Jul 20, 2022
Family trips are unforgettable moments when you can create new memories and share unique experiences. Planning each trip is very important. We know that traveling with the little ones of the house can add an extra challenge, even more so if you are organizing a family trip for the first time.
Forthis reason, we have prepared this guideline with 5️⃣ tips to help you organize your next trip.
1. Safety First
The law requires children less than 4.7 feet (1.45 meters) tall or under the age of 12 to travel in a car seat in vehicles. The type of car seat you require will depend on the age, height, and weight of the child.
Economy has safety seats for our customers based on the availability of each office.
2. Plan your Trip
Check the routes available and choose the best one for you. This will also help you learn the location of the gas stations or rest areas you will find on the route. If the trip is very long, we recommend you stop every 2 hours to make use of the bathroom and stretch a little.
3. Prepare Snacks and Activities
Snacks are an excellent option for long trips, but remember that they have to be light since many hours in the car could cause the little ones to be dizzy. It is advisable to eat a little before leaving as this will decrease the chances of feeling dizzy during the trip.
There are several activities you can do in the car, such as listening to stories or music, naming the color of passing cars, or playing "I spy".
4. Travel Kit
Are you going to the beach or the mountain? Is it going to be cold or hot? Taking into account the weather conditions of the place where you are going and the activities that you are going to do will help you to better organize the travel kit with the clothes, shoes, and other accessories that will be needed. Also, take a small first aid kit based on your final destination.
5. Involve Children
Make children feel part of the journey, from start to finish! Even if they do not have large tasks in the process, it is important that they feel part of it. You can tell them about the route you are going to take; that way, they can be aware of the travel time, the breaks, the final destination, and the activities you will do there.
Finally, be flexible! During trips, changes may come up or activities may take longer than expected. The most important thing is to be able to enjoy family time and create good memories.
That’s why Economy offers you a wide variety of vehicles for all types of trips to be part of your next family carventure.
